CORE VALUES: 2011 HIGHLIGHTS RESPECT
Respect: Showing regard for the worth of someone or something. Through interacting with pack families, Cub Scouts will develop appreciation and respect for different families and traditions. Through pack service projects, they will learn to treat the environment with care.
We need volunteers! If you can space some time to help out at a pack meeting, or to lead a Den, please let us know.
Are you registered for 2011? Please check with Laurie (Laurie.email@example.com) if you are unsure.
2011 Dues. We are currently in the process of setting a budget for 2011. Council Dues are $16 for the year. We also need to collect dues for our Pack to do activities and purchase advancement items, such as belt loops. We'd like to keep this low. We also want to ensure that any child can participate, regardless of financial situation. If you know of anyone who would like to join, but finds dues prohibitive, please see Laurie or Russ and we'll be happy to find a way to make it work.
Books. Do you have a Scout Handbook for this year? We'll be kicking off Handbook work at Petra Cliffs. You can get higher up the wall at Petra Cliffs, but you can only get higher up in Scouting by advancing! Your son should have one of the following, depending on grade:
1st grade: Tiger Cub
2nd Grade: Wolf Cub
3rd Grade: Bear Cub
4th & 5th: WeBeLoS
If you need a handbook and do not have one, please call Laurie and we'll get you sorted! (264-9070)
Snacks. We'd like to continue to provide pizza and one healthy vegetable or fruit for Pack Meetings. Please sign up to chip in for Pack Pizza and Veggies. Water pitchers and paper cups will also be available at Pack meetings, but Scouts are encouraged to bring re-usable water bottles. Stay tuned for a Google Docs link to do this, or look for the sign up sheet at the next meeting.

We made the bow by placing a larger rubber band on a clothing hanger. For the arrow, we used a 1 foot long cylindrical dowel (from any lumber or craft store), cut a knotch on one end to fit to the rubber band, and used super glue and tape to attached a suction cup on the end. Walt then lead the kids with setting up a target, and he took turns with them practicing our archery skiils.
